1. Google Mars

Most of you might have seen Google Maps, it shows the satellite views of earth. But there is another website from Google which shows satellite views of Mars. Yes it is Google Mars. Similar to Google maps you can see Mars surface and its different regions in Google Mars.

2. Google Moon

Just like Google Mars, another amazing website from Google is Google Moon. It shows satellite view of the entire moon's surface. You can also see those spots on the moon where man has landed. Visit both Google Mars and Google Moon, you will learn a lot of things.

3. Let me Google That for you

Go to http://www.lmgtfy.com/

Type something and press search. It will give you a link as shown in the side figure.

Now copy and paste the link in the browser and see what happens.

Saying in words is not enough. Do it practically and then believe.

4. Open a website even when it is blocked

Many times it happens that some websites gets blocked because of some technical problem. At that time you will really become frustrated if you need some urgent information from the website. But Google has a very beautiful technology to solve this problem. Just type cache:website's address in Google search. For example: If you want to search in www.example.com then type cache:www.example.com
Google will give you a cached copy of that website. You will see the following box on the top of your page.

5. Convert a long URL to a short form

If you want to convert a very long URL to a short form then you can take help of Google. Go to http://goo.gl/, type your URL and press Shorten URL. You can also set the time, upto which the URL will persist.

6. Search a particular file type in Google

You can filter your result according to the file type you want. For example if you want only .pdf files related to keyboard then type filetype:pdf keyboard in Google.

7. Google as a calculator

Enter any expression in Google which you want to calculate. Google will give you the result immediately after you press enter as shown in the figure.

8. Google as a Graph Plotter

Note: I have tested this in Firefox 5.0 and Google Chrome 19.0, it is working fine. It is not working in Internet Explorer 8.

Go to Google and type any expression for which you want to plot a graph. For example: type (sin x)/x in Google and press enter. Google will plot the graph for you.

Download your entire Facbook Profile in a zip file

Now you can download your entire Facebook profile in a zip file. Don't you believe it ? But it is true. You can download your entire wall, all of your photos, all your friend lists and all your messages which you have received or have sent to somebody. You can browse through all of them even if you are offline. I can show you an example. Just look at my profile.

I have downloaded my entire profile to my local disc. Now even I will be offline I can view all my wall posts, photos, Friends, messages etc.

What advantages you will get ?

You can keep a copy of your Facebook in your local drive.
You can know the groups you have added, your photos, messages etc. even you are offline.
You can even see the messages which you have sent before 9 months.
You will get detail data like to whom you had talk, when you had talk and what you had talk.
You can also see what was there on your wall 8 months before.
You will get all these features with about 1mb zip file. In my case it was 1mb. If you have added more photos then it may exceed 1 mb.

How will you download it ?

Just go to your Account Settings which is present at the top right corner.
At the bottom of that page you will get an option called "Download copy of your Facebook data". Click on it.
It will take 1-2 hours to gather all of your data. Here is the snapshot I am showing you.

After all the data is gathered, Facebook will send a download link to your email.

Hey it's a normal TV/AC remote controller and a normal cell phone with camera.

2. What is this ?

This is the Infrared LED of your TV/AC remote.

3. Now you do one thing-Just press any button of your remote and see the light in your naked eye. Are you able to see the LED flashing light?

4. Now you turn ON your cell phone camera and see the LED through your camera and press any button of the remote. Now you will be able to see the light is glowing.

5. By using this technique you can check your remote battery or the remote buttons are working or not.

Which phone should I buy???

Earlier before buying a new cell phone; a person was very particular on brand. Which brand she/he should go for? But now the monopoly of brand is gone! Now we should see the Operating System (OS). On which OS the phone is running. Before choosing OS we should think about our age and type of work or nature of job which we are doing in our day to day life for bread and butter.

Who am I ?

I am a college going girl/boy or I am an employee of xyz organization having 5 to 20 yrs of experience. Here we will consider the following OS:

Write with your own Indian language in your computer

Yes it is true ! ! ! Now you can type in your own Indian language using Microsoft Indic Language Input Tool. These tools has been launched by Microsoft. It's really amazing. No need of any other software, no need of any special keyboard. Using your existing keyboard you can type in your own language. Don't believe it ? Try it once, you will automatically believe it.

Go to http://www.bhashaindia.com/ilit/ and find your language over there. You will find two options, one is install desktop version and the second is install web version. Click on install desktop version and install it. (It is hardly of 2-5 mb)
After installation you will find a new icon in your taskbar as shown below.

If you are not finding the icon in your task bar then do the following steps to make it appear

Go to start menu and type Region and Language, click on it.
A window will appear with some tabs. Go to Keyboard and Languages tab.
Click on Change Keyboards. A window will appear with 3 tabs. Go to Language Bar tab.
There you will find find 3 radio buttons, click on Docked in the task bar option and press OK. You can also Press OK in other windows.
Now the new icon will appear in the task bar.

Now you are done. Click on the new icon the taskbar set the language to your language.

Example: Here I want to write in Hindi so I am going to click on it.

I have installed the Hindi, Oriya and Telugu, that is why you are seeing only those languages in those options.
You can also install Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi and Tamil.

You can now write anywhere in windows in your own language. Here are some examples.

Power Efficiency Diagnostic Report of your PC

It's really interesting. Within one minute you can get the power efficiency diagnostic report of your PC. It is very easy. You will get a detail report in HTML format. This will really help you to diagnose your PC. In the HTML file you will get the computer related information, power related information, CPU utilization, power policy etc. Just do the following to get it.

Run the command prompt as an administrator. To do this go to Start menu and type cmd. Right click on cmd, click on Run as Administrator.
Enter the drive name in command prompt where you want to save the report.

For example: If you want to save the report in D: drive then type d: and press enter. It will go to D:\>

Enter the drive name where you want to save the file

Now type powercfg –energy –output \Energy_Report.html and press enter. The same has been shown in the following image.

Wait patiently for 1 minute while windows is preparing the report for you.
After the analysis is complete go to the corresponding drive to see the report.

How to make a Bootable Pendrive

Now a days the virus problems are getting very critical. Sometimes some unknown viruses crashes our system software. So in every 8-10 months we may need to reinstall our operating system or simply saying we may need to format our system. But the question here is, in latest models of laptops there is no CD drive, then how we will install windows in our PC ?

Don't worry friends ! ! ! I am here with a very very useful and amazing trick. You can now install windows vista/7/8 from your pendrive itself. To do this you need to make your pendrive bootable. Here is the simple procedure to do it.

Open "run" and type "cmd".

Command window will appear. Type "diskpart" in the command window.

If you are using windows vista/7/8 then this window will appear. Select "Yes".

After this, the command will appear with the tag "DISKPART>"
Type "list disk". Now it will display all your drives including the external hard drives or pendrives. Just see the memory . Here I am using a 8GB Pendrive so I am going to select Disk 2 i.e 7400 MB.
Now type "select disk 2". Type "clean". Then type "create partition primary". All these steps has been shown in the following picture.

Now type "select partition 1". Then type "active".
Type "format fs=fat32" (format <space> fs=fat32)
It will take few minutes to format. So wait till 100 percent is completed.
Type "assign". The same has been shown in the following diagram.

Type "exit" to exit the command prompt.
Now close everything. Open your OS Drive and copy all OS files and paste it in the pen drive.
If you have any .iso image file of the OS then you can mount it by using various virtual mounting software.

Now it is DONE.

Chat on Facebook in the sidebar of Mozilla Firefox

You can now chat with your friends on Facebook in your sidebar of Mozilla Firefox with simultaneously browsing other websites in other tabs. You will not have to switch the tabs repeatedly to chat with your friends as it is really very difficult to switch between them while you open dozens of tab along with the Facebook chat. Following trick will make your work easy.

Step-1

Go to www.facebook.com and bookmark the page (before login).

Step-2

Now press ctrl+B to open your bookmarks. Go to your recently added Facebook bookmark and right click on it. You will see some menu options, click on "Properties".

Step-3

After clicking on "Properties" you will see a dialog box. In the dialog box you will find a check box called as "Load this bookmark in the sidebar". Make it checked and click "Save".

Step-4
Now click on the bookmark, it will open the Facebook page in the sidebar itself. Login to your account and chat with your friends, simultaneously you can also browse other sites in other tabs.

1. Enabling Developer tab

Open your Microsoft PowerPoint and look at the top menu bar. Just do a verification whether the "Developer" tab is visible or not. If it is not visible then do the following to make it visible otherwise you can go to step 2.

For PowerPoint 2007: Click on the Microsoft button present at the top left corner. Some menu will open. At the bottom part you will see a button called "PowerPoint options", click on it. A window will open where you can enable the "Show Developer tab in the Ribbon" check box which is present in the "Top options for working with PowerPoint" section. For PowerPoint 2010: Go to "File->Options". Then choose "Customize Ribbon" in the categorizes pane. Then in the list of main tabs choose "Developer", press "OK".

2. Creating web browser object

Given below a figure to help you. In the developer tab you can see the tool bar options.

Click on the "More Controls" icon as shown in figure, you will see small window. Scroll down and select "Microsoft WebBrowser". Drag and release on your slide to create an object of the web browser. If any other object is previously present in the slide except the web browser then delete them.

3. Create 3 more objects

Now you need to create two more objects. One is a text box, second is a label and 3rd one is a command button. All are present in the Develop tab, clearly visible in the above image. After adding text box, label and command button the slide look like as follow.

4. Creating the actions

Double click on the command button that you have recently created. It will take you to the visual basic editor. Now press ctrl+A and delete previously existing code(if any). Now copy the following code and paste it in the visual basic editor.

Join two mp3 files with command prompt

This is an awesome command prompt trick which will join multiple mp3 files one after the other. No need of any software, just with the help of a simple command line you can do this.

Just go through the following instructions

Step-1

Create a new folder anywhere in your drive.

Example: I am creating a new folder called "Join mp3" in D: drive.

Step-2

Keep those two mp3 files, which you want to merge, in the new folder. Rename the mp3 files as 1.mp3 and 2.mp3. By doing this you will get 1.mp3 first and then 2.mp3 in the output file. You can also reverse the naming to get the reverse in output file.

Step-3

Pressing the shift key and simultaneously right click on the "Join mp3" folder. You will see a new menu option called as "Open command window here". Click on it.

Step-4

The command window will open at the same folder. Now copy and paste the following code in the command prompt.

copy /b *.mp3 Join.mp3

Now go to the "Join mp3" folder, you can see a new mp3 file named "Join.mp3". This file contains both 1.mp3 and 2.mp3. Now it's the time to enjoy........

1. How to show/hide your recycle bin from your desktop

You must have marked, the Recycle bin can not be deleted from your desktop and also when you install an operating system the only thing you will find on your desktop is the Recycle bin. It might sometimes happen that your recycle bin sometimes disappear from your desktop, and if at the same time you want to restore some deleted files, then you will really become impatient.

There are some other instances also, when some persons might try to keep their desktop completely clean. They may want to remove all the desktop icons and to make it completely clean. But the Recycle bin is the only icon which they can't delete from desktop.

But fortunately all of your problems can be solved in just one line. Go to Start menu and type desktop icons in the search box. Click on the Show or hide common icons on the desktop.
A window will appear as shown in the figure. Just ensure that the Recycle Bin check box is checked or unchecked.

So finally your problem is over. Next time if you find that Recycle bin is not present on the desktop, don't be impatient.

2. How to convert windows 7 style Taskbar to windows xp style

Do you really like the windows xp style task-bar.
Don't worry you can get it back in Windows 7 also. Just right click in the open area of the task-bar as shown in the left side figure.
Click on properties. A new window will appear.
Click on the "Taskbar buttons" drop-down menu and select "Combine when taskbar is full".
After doing click apply, the task bar will look like as the second task bar as shown in above figures.
If you want still some icons then click on the "Use small icons" check box and make it checked, click apply.
After doing this the task bar will look like the 3rd task bar as shown in above figures.

3. An amazing thing happens in Microsoft Word

We all use Microsoft Word almost everyday but still don't know this. Its really amazing.

Just open your Microsoft word and type,

=rand (5)

and now press enter. What happened ? Got confused ?

Note: If you are using MS Word 2003 or earlier then type

=rand.old (5)

and press enter. You will see the miracle.

If you want to insert pseudo-Latin sample text in MS Word then type

=lorem ()

and press enter. You will see a sample paragraph.

4. Folder name magic trick

Create a new folder on you desktop and try to give it a name using one of the following

CON, PRN, AUX, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, or LPT9

Now tell me what happens. Could you save it in the name CON. Are you getting the following

Explanation for this: Those device names are reserved for windows, so you can not name a folder using those words.

However there is a trick by which you can make folder names with CON. Read this post to know how.
